Gowanda Area Little League DISCIPLINE POLICY
Players:
A. Any player who throws a batting helmet, bat or other equipment shall be immediately ejected from the game by the umpire. No warning shall be issued as this is a zero tolerance policy. This player will automatically be suspended from his/her next League game.
B. Should a second incident occur with the same player, the player shall be ejected from the game and suspended from his/her next 2 league games.
C. Any subsequent violation involving the same player shall result in an indefinite suspension of the player and a hearing by the Board of Directors.
D. Should the umpire not witness the thrown equipment, the player’s manager shall have the right to impose the ejection and subsequent suspension. Should the manager decide to impose the penalty, he should notify the umpire at the field.
E. Any equipment damaged by a player shall be replaced at the expense of the offending player and his/her parent or guardian.
F. The umpires are being instructed to keep a close eye on all players. They will no longer issue any warning, but will instead eject players as necessary.
G. Managers and coaches of all teams should address this issue with their players and parents to ensure that no incidents occur.
Manager/Coaches:
A. Any manager/coach who verbally or physically abuses a field umpire shall be immediately ejected from the game by the field umpire. No warning shall be issued as this is a zero tolerance policy. This manager/coach will automatically be suspended from his/her next League game as named in section 4.07 of the Little League Regulations and Playing Rules Manual.
B. Any subsequent violation involving the same manager/coach shall result in an indefinite suspension of the named manager/coach and a hearing by the Board of Directors will take place to discuss any further action.
C. It is the managers responsibility that spectators, from their team, conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible way toward ALL players, managers, coaches, and umpires.
